What Is a Dental Implant?

You can get a single dental implant, multiple dental implants, or a full arch. If you’re missing one or a few teeth, dental implant(s) can be placed into the jawbone and topped with a natural-looking dental crown or dental bridge. For patients missing all of their teeth, we use dental implants as a stable foundation for dentures to attach to. One of the greatest benefits of dental implants is that they will last a lifetime if taken care of properly.

Implant Options for Full Arch Replacement

We offer all-on-four implants and snap-on dentures with locators for patients missing all of their teeth on their upper and/or lower arches. Don’t settle for uncomfortable, ill-fitting dentures when you could have a more reliable tooth replacement option!

All-On-Four® Dental Implants

All-on-four is a more cost-friendly approach to securing a full-arch denture because this method uses four implants instead of the standard six to eight. For this approach, we place two implants upright in the front of your jaw, then position two implants further back in the jaw and tilt them upwards at a 45° angle. Once your implants are embedded, we’re able to permanently fix your denture in place.

Snap-In Dentures with Locator Inserts

Locator attachments make denture placement and removal a stress-free process. They are used to securely attach and align the bottom of your denture to your implants. The locators are resilient to pressure and pivot to mimic the natural movements of your jaw when you eat, talk, or bite down. With this technology, putting on and taking off your false teeth has never been so simple.

Benefits of Dental Implants

  • Beyond restored confidence, dental implants have numerous health benefits. They prevent bone loss caused by missing teeth, and keep your other teeth from shifting.
  • Dental implants are convenient and easy to care for. Unlike dentures that need gels, soaking, and regular replacement, dental implants are the most permanent solution for replacing missing teeth.
  • When you have missing teeth, your cheeks can sink in, aging you beyond your years. Dental implants fill out your face and cheeks, giving you a youthful, beautiful smile.
  • With less pressure on your other teeth, dental implants will help balance out the gaps in your mouth and prevent uneven wear on your remaining natural teeth. Replacing missing teeth is also beneficial for your gums.

Dental Implant FAQs

How long do dental implants last?

Unlike your natural teeth, dental implants are not susceptible to cavities. However, that doesn’t mean you can get away with not brushing and flossing them like your other teeth. The longevity of your implants relies heavily on how well you take care of them. You should continue to visit the dentist every six months for routine cleanings and checkups. Am I a good candidate for dental implants?

Chances are, if you have multiple missing teeth, or even one missing tooth, you’re a candidate for implants. However, there are certain factors in addition to missing teeth that we look at such as your overall oral health, the current state of your jawbone, and more. When you visit our office for your free implant consultation, we’ll examine your smile and recommend if implants are the right tooth replacement option for you.

Are dental implants affordable?

Since dental implants are permanent and require a more extensive process, they are known to be more expensive than traditional dentures and other tooth replacement options. However, we offer a variety of financial options to help you fit a beautiful, fully functioning smile into your budget. We accept most insurance, have an in-house savers plan, and work with third-party financing through CareCredit®.
